5 Best Posters To Hang In Your Apartment
If you are anything like me and lack the creativity of sprucing up your apartment with proper, young adult, age appropriate home décor, then posters are most likely your go-to.
They are not only easy to post given a few thumb tacks, and uber cheap, but they also display some of your favorite things, including that collage picture of Zac Efron when he was a young and a very blossoming 17-year-old.
If interested in the diverse types of posters you should have, read below.
Sports
This is my personal favorite and it is for good reason, if I do say so myself. There are various sports teams that you may affiliate with, so the possibilities are actually endless.
You can exhibit a closeup of Ryan Tannehill getting into position, illustrating his concentration to the game. Or maybe go for a group shot of the Miami Heat, focusing on their various basketball stances.
Then there are the posters that simply read “The New York Mets.” Regardless of where you position these said sports posters in your apartment, prepare for doubters to question you on how much you actually know about the game.
Then when they have finished lecturing you in your own house, feel free to show them the door. Or simply laugh off the fact that you may only like a team because of their hot quarterback or dazzling team colors. No shame.
Inspirational Quotes
I like this one because it is pretty cheesy, but can also read as super satirical. They make for a great conversation starter, as well as a perfect way to cover up that white space in your not-yet-very-colorful living room. But, do not fret, you are surely on your way with all of these eye-opening poster ideas.
Some of them can tell a hilarious story, or provide reasoning for how you came across it in the first place. Currently, there is one on my bedroom wall reading, “Take Responsibility and Do the Right Thing.” Joke is, I received it from a dressed-up Santa Claus at a Halloween party two years ago, all while double fisting eggnog. Quite the anecdote, right?
If you actually like inspirational quotes, then you definitely have a large selection to choose from. Plus, you can place them anywhere from your bathroom to your hallway. The paint brush is in your hands, you painter you.
Celebrities
Although we are no longer in high school, we can still dream about marrying Leonardo DiCaprio or Jessica Alba. So no need to be embarrassed about proudly presenting them in your apartment.
I know most of you have seen or previously owned a poster of girls in bikinis, or Brad Pitt smiling right at you. So might as well still have them up.
The joy of seeing their beautiful faces everyday will encourage you to wake up. Or maybe motivate you to want to go back to sleep, dreaming about them in your fantasy world. Either way, it is a bonus.
School Affiliated
Regardless of what university we attend, we have school pride. And if not, then you should maybe find it or transfer schools?
We all know we receive free posters from various events on campus, including sports and clubs. Where else better to put them than in your living area or above your bed?
They can read your school slogan, or simply depict the traditional emblem. And if you are ever so lucky, you can still proudly hang your “Undefeated National Champions” poster from the 2013-14 season (Go ‘Noles!).
Movie Themes
These are super convenient because you can find them anywhere, literally. We all have our favorite movies to quote or watch on repeat. So might as well see that distinct movie poster every day.
You can hang a “Breakfast Club” poster in your kitchen, or a “Batman” one in your bedroom. There is room for them all, guys. Plus, if you decide to ever remove them or transfer them to a separate wall, it is easy peasy.
If you’re really a fan of a specific film, then you should feel good about supporting those actors by purchasing their franchise poster. I am sure they appreciate it.
Posters in general, regardless of the theme or size, are an easy way of decorating your apartment if either a: you are balling on a budget, b: lack a creative outlet, or c: are way too lazy to actually hang a framed picture.
They can illustrate your favorite things, such as pizza or a cat playing a piano, or can have the intent of being funny and slightly immature. Nonetheless, they are easy to hang, and fun to see every day.
P.S. Most poster examples are in fact posters that currently cover my bedroom and apartment walls. You are welcome.
