The Flower Show 2018: What to Know Before You Go

The Philadelphia Flower Show is a popular event that draws people from the Philadelphia region and beyond. The annual event is hosted by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. There are flowers, shopping, and other events to make your Flower Show experience memorable.

The Basics

This year’s flower show theme is The Wonder of Water. It is being held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, located at 12th and Arch Streets, from March 3 to the 11, 2018. The hours of the show are below. The box office opens a half hour before the show opens and closes one hour before the show closes.

Saturday, March 3 11 am – 8 pm
Sunday, March 4 8 am – 9 pm
Monday – Friday, March 5 – 9 10 am – 9 pm
Saturday, March 10 8 am – 9 pm
Sunday, March 11 8 am – 6 pm *last entry at 5 pm

Pricing

Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online. Tickets purchased online can be printed or scanned on a mobile device. If purchased online in advance, there is a discount, but a service fee is added. Tickets can be purchased online, at the box office, AAA Mid Atlantic offices, AAA Northampton offices, Acme Markets, Giant Food stores, Septa ticket outlets and Wegmans Markets.

There are student discounts for student aged 17-24. Students need to bring a valid student ID and proof of age. Advance online tickets for students, available until March 1, are $20. Student tickets purchased online during show week to attend during the week are $22 and $24 for attending on the weekend. If you decide to purchase onsite, the student price is $24 during the week and $26 on weekends.

Getting There

If you want to drive, you can reserve parking through the Convention Center Parking Facility. There is even a coupon for the facility!

The Pennsylvania Convention Center is located right in Jefferson Station, which is a Septa Regional Rail stop away from Temple’s station. If you would rather take a bus, get off the bus on Market Street between 11th and 12th Streets and walk to the Convention Center.

Food

Philadelphia is known for its food. While there is food in the Flower Show, there are other options nearby. The Hard Rock Café Philly and Field House Bar are popular choices as they are located just an escalator or elevator ride from the Flower Show. Reading Terminal Market is also within walking distance of the Flower Show venue and offers a wide variety of food options.
