AIWA Could Be A Retirement Game Changer

By Victoria Robertson on January 30, 2020

As a college student, saving for retirement is likely one of the last things on your mind. However, there are actually options out there for you to begin saving your money now, it just takes a little legwork!

While most of you are likely 40 or more years away from retirement, The American Independent Wealth Account (AIWA) can integrate with the Social Security Retirement (SSR) system in order to help individuals build personal wealth in a national, mutual fund.

Basically, this AIWA system is going to build out a pool of investment money coming from the SSR tax dollars that are pooled from salaries of working Americans, allowing them to take stock in this investment pool.

Previously, SSR money was withheld from paychecks as a tax, and no one, young or old, can see a dime of this money, according to a recent press release.

With this being said, the AIWA system will turn this on its head. Instead, any mutual fund shares will be your personal property, as will your 401K, 403B or other retirement plans that you invest in.

Plus, there will be a smartphone app that you will be able to track your contributions in!

So when will AIWA go into effect?

With your help, as soon as possible! Ensure you are contacting your friends, family, state senators and house representatives with details from the CST site found here. Specifically, you can reference sections four and five.

You can help implement this change by getting in front of decision-makers in your state.

For individuals 18 to 22, this is extremely important, though your parents, aunts, uncles, etc. would substantially benefit from this change as well. All it takes is a little self-education and pushing of Congress.
